This summer at Microsoft Research (I'm an MIT PhD student), I’ve been researching the work of subreddit moderators, studying the ways that moderators develop common interests as they face the company, as they face their subscribers, and as they relate to other moderators. I've also been researching the blackout of July 2015.
In a /r/TheoryOfReddit post, I visualize subreddit participation in the blackout and fit a naive statistical model predicting subreddit participation.
I'm also interviewing subreddit mods about their work and about the blackout. If you're interested to talk with me, please contact me via Reddit Mail. Thanks!
EDIT: moved the "how I did it" into a comment.
